WESTBOROUGH- Reba H. Gray, 88, of 3 Lyman St., Westborough, MA, died Friday, July 16, 2010, following an extended illness at the Beaumont Skilled Nursing Center, Westborough, MA.
She was the wife of the late Ralph W. Gray, Jr. for 59 years. She leaves two sons and daughters-in-law, R. William and Marilyn of Ithaca, NY and David and Margaret of Westborough; a daughter, Anne Gray Sterner of Manahawkin, NJ; five grandchildren, Jason Sterner, Andrew Sterner, Lauren Gray, Rebecca Gray, and Peter Gray; and one great grandchild, Anja Hutto.
She was born in Williamsport, PA, the daughter of William Henry Hough and Reba Whiteman Hough. She is survived by a brother, William Hough, of Brevard, NC and a sister, Elizabeth Wilkinson, of Williamsport, PA. She was a graduate of Williamsport High School, attended Duke University, and graduated from the Pennsylvania State University. Prior to relocating to Westborough, Mrs. Gray resided in Gulf Breeze, FL for 20 years.
Mrs. Gray retired in 1980 as an associate real estate broker, following a long career as a public school teacher in Williamsport. She was active in the Junior League of Williamsport, served on the board of the Lycoming County Mental Health Association, and on the board of the Lycoming County United Way. Mrs. Gray was a member of the Evangelical Congregational Church of Westborough.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 7 at 11:00 a.m. at the Evangelical Congregational Church at the corner of West Main Street and Church Street in Westborough. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made either to the Music Committee of the Evangelical Congregational Church of Westborough, 8 Church St., Westborough, MA 01581 or to the American Red Cross of Central Massachusetts, 2000 Century Drive, Worcester, MA 01606.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough.
