WESTBOROUGH- Albert F. Prikacki, 98, of Westborough, died Friday, December 11, 2009 at the Beaumont Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Westborough. He was the husband of Dorothy (Lekberg) Prikacki.
Born in Hopkinton, he was the son of the late Frank and Anna (Gildo) Prikacki. He was a 1929 graduate of Hopkinton High School and a 1931 graduate of Wentworth Institute.
During WW II he proudly served with the U.S. Navy. Stationed in the Pacific, he served on the USS Fanshaw Bay and earned the WW II Victory Medal, Asiatic Pacific Ribbon, Philipine Liberation Ribbon, Presidential Unit Citation and the American Theatre Campaign Ribbon.
Mr. Prikacki was employed as a machinist for Heald Machine in Worcester retiring in 1974.
He was a member of the Westborough Senior Center and enjoyed gardening and feeding the birds.
In addition to his wife he is survived by one son, Allen F. Prikacki of Marlborough; one daughter, Kathryn A. Card of New Harbor, Maine; one brother, Joseph Pratt of Hopkinton; two sisters, Frances Bowler of Boston and Isabel Zacharchuk of Sudbury; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Anna Monac, Mary Thornton, Lillian Pratt and Mildred Erkander.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 15, at 10:30 A.M. in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
Calling hours at the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough, are Monday, December 14, from 4 to 6 P.M.
