ROBERT LOVE ANDERSON


SHREWSBURY- Robert Love Anderson, 92, died peacefully on Sunday, June 22, 2008, at University Commons, with the compassionate care of the University Commons staff and UMass Memorial Hospice.

The son of Robert Anderson, Sr. and Frances (Montgomery) Anderson, he was born and grew up in Pittsburgh, PA with his sister Frances (Weems). Following in his fathers' and uncles' footsteps he received his Medical Degree from the University of Pittsburgh. After serving with honor in the Army Medical Corps in France during World War II, Robert was a ward and emergency room physician for the Veterans' Administration in Western Pennsylvania until his retirement in 1983. Robert and his wife Marie moved to Northborough, MA in 1983 to be nearer to their family. In 2000 they moved to their current home in Shrewsbury.

Robert leaves behind his loving wife of 65 years Marie (Abbott) Anderson; His daughter Sarah Frances Lividini and her husband Joseph of Shrewsbury; as well as two beloved granddaughters and their husbands, Lisa Marie and Aaron Sandoval, and Victoria Love and Brian Cope; five great grandchildren and two nieces; and many friends who loved him.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 P.M. on Wednesday, June 25, at the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 26, at 10:00 A.M. in St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 3 John St., Westborough. In lieu of flowers a contribution can be made in his name to Homes for Our Troops. 37 Main St., Taunton, MA 02780
