Joseph M. Breen

WESTBOROUGH- Joseph M. Breen, 74, of Westborough, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 3, 2012 at the Shrewsbury Rehabilitation Center, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Linda M. (Cole) Breen.
Born in Worcester, he was the son of the late Joseph M. and Ruth (Clement) Breen. He was educated in Worcester schools, earned a master’s degree at Worcester State College and attended Boston College.
Mr. Breen was a teacher with the Framingham Public Schools teaching Physical and Earth Science.  Prior to Framingham, he taught at Nashoba Regional High School.
Joe gave back to his community. He was President of the Westborough Jaycees, President of the Westborough Civic Club, and President of the Westborough Athletic Boosters Association.  Joe served over 20 years on the Westborough Zoning Board of Appeals and he was a communicant of St. Luke the Evangelist Church.  Joe was very active in his children’s lives, coaching their sports teams and sharing his love of the outdoors. He was happiest skiing, hiking, camping, canoeing, and traveling the world with his family and many friends.
In addition to his wife he is survived by one son, Joseph P. Breen and his wife Theresa, of Westborough; two daughters, Susan Kasbarian and her husband, Gregory, of Patterson, NY and Carolyn Burnham and her husband Derek, of Wellesley; three sisters, Mary Duffy of Worcester, Theresa Bolduc of Worcester and Ruth McDermott of Boston; five grandchildren, Sydney Breen, Lily Burnham, Cole Kasbarian, Emily Burnham, John Kasbarian and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 7th at 10:30 A.M. in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main Street, Westborough. Burial will follow in St. Luke’s Cemetery.  
Calling hours are Thursday, December 6th from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough.  
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Westborough Civic Club, P.O. Box 155, Westborough, MA 01581 or St. Luke the Evangelist Church Memorial Fund, 70 West Main St., Westborough, MA 01581
