Josephine A. (Tomaso) Kane

Josephine A. “Jo” (Tomaso) Kane, 94, of Westborough, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at the Kindred Healthcare Center. She was the wife of the late Walter J. “Guy” Kane who died in 2003.

Born in Milford, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Teresa (Ferrante)  Tomaso and was educated in Milford schools.

Josephine was employed at Thompson Steak House, Mass. Electric and Bay State Abrasives prior to her retirement. She enjoyed traveling and taking cruises with her close friends the Lightbody’s. She especially cherished the time spent with friends and family.

Jo is survived by her children, Charles E. Kane and his wife, Denise, of Merritt Island, FL, Mary A. Emery and her husband, Pat, of Shrewsbury, Paul J. Kane and his wife, Suzanne, of Douglas, David J. Kane and Steven F. Kane both of Westborough; one sister, Theresa Petti and her husband, Tony, of Milford; a daughter in law, Maureen Kane of Upton; 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was pre-deceased by a son, Walter C. Kane; four brothers, Biagio, Charles, Frank and Alfred Tomaso and two sisters, Marie Saccardo and Sarah Grillo.

The Kane family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff at Kindred Care and Home Hospice.

Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 3, at 12 Noon in the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough. Burial will follow in St. Luke’s Cemetery.

Calling hours at the funeral home are Monday, November 2, from 5 to 8 P.M.
