Michael J. Costa

Michael J. Costa, 69, of Westborough, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of 26 years to Paula J. Kane.

Born in Marlborough, he was the son of the late Joaquim M. Costa and Alice D. (Morris) Kasaras and step-son of the late John Kasaras. He was educated in St. Mary’s Parochial Schools and was a graduate of Marlborough High School. He also attended and graduated from Clark Universty.

During the Viet Nam Era he served wit the U. S. Army.

Michael was employed as a senior systems analyst for Data General, Nynex Corp. and Ikon. In later years he worked at the U.S Postal Service Distribution Center in Shrewsbury.

He was a communicant of St. Gabriel the Archangel Church in Upton, a member of the Marlborough Fish and Game, the Piccadilly Pub Sport Fishing Club and was an avid fisherman.

In addition to Paula he is survived by two sons, Brett M. Costa of Marlborough and Corey J. Kane of Westborough; two brothers, John Kasaras of Upton and Jay Kasaras and his wife, Sandra,  of Marlborough; two sisters, Joanne Scorzelli and her husband, Joseph, of Marlborough and Cheryl Kavanaugh and her husband, Richard, of Hudson; an aunt, Evelyn Entwhistle of PA; three grandchildren, Chloe and Evan Costa and Jacob Kane and nieces and nephews.

His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 14, at 10:00 A.M. in St. Gabriel the Archangel Church, 151 Mendon St., Upton. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Marlborough. There are no calling hours.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of David A. Pickering, Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West main St., Westborough.
