Phyllis L. Shelton

WESTBOROUGH- Phyllis L. Shelton, 92, of Westborough, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 19, 2012 at the Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center. She was the wife of Paul S. Shelton to whom she was married for 71 years.

Born in White Plains, NY, she was the daughter of the late Avery and Wilbur (LaPaugh) Lord. She was educated in Providence schools and attended Rhode Island School of Design.

Mrs. Shelton was the president of the New Hampshire Women’s Golf Association prior to her retirement. She also taught dance and was an avid golfer.

Phyllis was a member of The Congregational Church of Westborough. She had resided in Westborough from 1959 to 1972 moving to St. Augustine, FL, then to Jaffrey, NH returning to Westborough in 2001.

In addition to her husband she is survived by three sons, P.David Shelton and his wife, Karen, of Beverly Hills, Michigan, Robert N. Shelton and his wife, Susan, of Princeton, MA, Richard C. Shelton and his wife, Joni, of Peterborough, NH; one daughter, Elizabeth L. Fields and her husband, Eugene, of N. Grafton; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren

A private funeral service will be held in The Congregational Church of Westborough, 57 West Main St., Westborough. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
