Richard A. Parke, 90, of Westborough, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at the Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Westborough. He was the husband of Barbara A. (Magnuson) Parke.

Born in Worcester, he was the son of the late Hjalmer and Aini (Lehtola) Parke. He attended Becker Junior College and graduated from Boston University.

During WW II he served with the United States Marine Corps.

Richard was employed as sales manager for Elgin Watch Co. prior to his retirement.

He was a former member of the Masonic Lodge in Holliston, was an avid skier, skiing well into his eighties. He also enjoyed Square Dancing and going to Florida.

In addition to his wife he is survived by four children, David Parke and his wife, Patrice, of Wilbraham, Brian Parke and his wife, Shirley, of Topsfield, James Parke and his wife, Renee, of Hudson and Kathleen Townsend and her husband, Gary, of Auburn; a step-son, Scott Schaefer and his wife, Joanne, of Franklin; one brother, Kenneth Parke and his wife, Jeanne, of Worcester; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff at Beaumont for their excellent care and compassion.

His funeral service will be held on Monday, March 20, at 10:30 A.M. in the David A. Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough. Burial in the Gardens of Gethsemane, West Roxbury will be private.

A calling hour will precede the service from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Westborough Food Pantry, P.O. Box 502, Westborough, MA 01581
