Richard J. Pond

Richard J. “Dick” Pond, 66, of Westborough, passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at the UMass/Memorial Healthcare-University Hospital surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness. He was the husband of Nancy (Haskell) Pond.

Born in Natick, he was the son of the late Robert G. and M. Winifred (O’Neil) Pond. He was educated in Westborough and was a graduate of Westborough High School.

Dick was employed as an Application Engineering Manager for Evoqua Water Technologies.

He was a communicant of St. Luke the Evangelist Church, former member of the Knights of Columbus, enjoyed walking and cooking and was a lifelong resident of Westborough.

In addition to his wife he is survived by one daughter, Caitlin Jaeger and her husband, James, of N. Grafton; five brothers, William Pond, Robert Pond, Stephen Pond, Edward Pond and Martin Pond; six sisters, Maryanna Pond, Constance Pillsbury, Judith Slonka, Christine Pond, Regina Carnathan and Rita Garrahan and many nieces and nephews.

A private funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Luke the Evangelist Church. There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Jimmy Fund.
