Faustas J. Rajeckas, 87, of Westborough, formerly of Waterford, Conn., died on July 8, 2008 at the Beaumont Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center in Westborough, from complications from Parkinson's Disease. He was the husband of the late Ona Suzana Rajeckas.
Born in Panevezys, Lithuania in 1920, he was the son of the late Juozas and Veronika (Janusonis) Rajeckas. He was educated in Lithuania and at the University of Hohenheim in Stuttgart, Germany and came to the United States in 1949. He worked as a research organic chemist at Pfizer Central Research & Development in Groton, Conn. until his retirement in 1984. Mr. Rajeckas was a communicant of St. Luke the Evangelist Church, was actively involved in the Lithuanian American Community and was dedicated to his family. He has been a resident of Westborough since 2003, previously living in Connecticut for over 40 years. He is survived by one son, Algis J. Rajeckas and his wife, Donna, of Laguna Niguel, Calif.; one daughter, Zita S. Melvin and her husband, Keith, of Westborough; one brother, Gediminas Rajeckas of Hackettstown, N.J., and four grandchildren, Thomas and Daniel Rajeckas and Christopher and Stephanie Melvin. He was the father of the late Lina M. Rajeckas. His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 11 at 12:30 pm at St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Putnam, Conn. Calling hours at the Britton-Summers Funeral Home, 4 Church St., Westborough, are Thursday, July 10, (today), from 4 to 7 P. M.
