Robert J. Skog, 70, of Westborough, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at home with his family.

Born in Worcester, he was the son of the late Earl and Anne (Rosseel) Skog. He was raised and educated in Westborough and was a 1964 graduate of Westborough High School. He also attended and graduated from Northeastern University.

During the Vietnam Era he served with the U.S Navy.  He was proud of his service and loved our country and what it stands for.

Robert worked as a computer programmer for most of his career and was the owner of MIS Solutions as a computer systems analyst.

Robert was a resident of Westborough for many years prior to moving to Daytona Beach Shores in 2003 returning to Westborough earlier this year.

He was a member of the Westborough Country Club and was an avid golfer.   He loved being outdoors with his many friends.  He was loved by all because of his zest for life and ability to tell stories and jokes.  Everyone smiled and laughed when in his presence.

Robert is survived by one son, Robert A. Skog of Natick; one daughter, Kelli Anne Silva and her husband, Brian, of Westborough; one brother, Frederick Skog and his wife, Susan, of Franklin; one sister, Sandra Felts and her significant other, Walter Nichols of Spring, TX; and two grandchildren, who were the love of his life, Lucas and Victoria Silva. He is also survived by his former wife and mother of his children, Paula Skog, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was the brother of the late Earl Skog, Jr., Pauline Skog, Jack Skog, Roy Skog and David Skog.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, September 23, from 4 to 7 P.M. at the David A. Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough.

A Celebration of Life Service will be on Saturday, September 24, at 9:30 A.M at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in memory of Robert Skog to support cancer research and patient care at Dana Farber Cancer Institute P.O. Box 849168 Boston, MA 02284 or via www.dana-farber.org/gift.
