Ann M. MacDonald, 82, of Upton, passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2018 surrounded by family.
She was born in Cambridge and was the last of eight children born to the late John and Katherine (McDonough) Sullivan. She was educated in Cambridge, graduated from St. John’s High School, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Boston Teachers College. Throughout her career, she taught in many classrooms and grade levels, but spent the majority of the time teaching fifth grade within the Cambridge Public Schools. In later years, she owned and operated Lake Ripple Video in Grafton, and worked in customer service at BJ’s in Westborough. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed traveling, music, relaxing by the ocean, the theater, and spending quality time with friends and family.
Ann is survived by her son, Sean B. MacDonald, and wife, Kathryn; her daughter, Caitlyn A. MacDonald, and husband; brother-in-law, John F. LeFort; one granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her loving parents, six sisters, and a brother.
Calling hours will be held at the Pickering and Son Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough, 2-4 P.M. on Sunday, March 25.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 26, at 10:30 A.M. in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to one of her many favorite charities.
