Listen to Obituary

Douglas Barton Ingram, 79, recently of Framingham, MA and formerly of Becket, MA, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2026.

Doug, also known as “Sandy”, was born in Boston, the eldest of three children of the late Douglas F. Ingram and Ann Louise (Sitzer) Ingram, and grew up in Vernon, CT.

Much of Doug’s life centered around the Berkshires. Summers were spent at the family cottage on Greenwater Pond in Becket, a place he later moved to full time after retiring. Over the years, he shared his love of the lake, the Berkshires, and its family traditions with his children and friends.

Doug’s passions were easy to spot — a Sunday New York Times crossword within reach, golf clubs always in the car, and fishing worms in the fridge. When not puttering in the yard or tinkering on DIY projects, he could be found in the kitchen whipping up something delicious to share with family or friends over a bottle of wine. He loved long beach days, his beloved Boston Terrier Alice, hosting epic Fourth of July fireworks shows, and joyfully conducting along to Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture at Tanglewood on Parade.

Doug is survived by his daughter, Heather Ingram (Seattle, WA), his son, Todd Ingram (Penacook, NH); his sisters and brothers-in-law, Susan and Paul Campbell (Manchester, CT), and Deborah and Billy Lewis (Venice, FL); as well as his grandchildren, a niece, nephews, and many extended family members and friends.

A private family burial will be held in Lee, MA at a later date. There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, raise a glass, share a story, and a laugh in Doug’s honor.
