Edwin, (Ed, Eddie) Johnson of N. Grafton, formerly of Shrewsbury and Westborough, went to his be with his Lord on Friday, April 14, 2023, at The Lutheran Home in Worcester. He was born on July 17, 1928, in Worcester to Nils T. & Edith E. (Skon-Carlson) Johnson. He is survived by the love of his life, wife, Hazel A. (Irvine) Johnson of 66 years. His surviving children are Debra M. (Farrar) & her husband Kevin of Westborough, MA; Kim E. Johnson-Turner of N. Bennington, Vt.; Jeffrey E. Johnson & his wife, Susan (Robbio) of Shrewsbury, MA; & Paul Randall (Randy) Johnson, of Hudson, NH. Seven grandchildren; Kristin (Farrar) Demoranville of Virginia, Amie (Farrar) Lotz, husband Dakota of Northbridge, MA; Bethany (Farrar), St. Onge, husband Garrett of Whitinsville, Adam Turner of Albany, NY, Dylan Turner and his fiancé, Alison Warmkessel of Chapel Hill, NC, Andrew Johnson and his wife Jennifer of Westborough and Melanie Johnson of Shrewsbury, his beloved sister Dorothy Klap of Lutz, FL. And four great-grandchildren; Charlotte Lotz, Zane, Til & Maelyn Johnson and several nieces & nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents, two brothers & 6 sisters: Alfred &Theodore Johnson, Alice Reece, Virginia Leach, Mildred Robertson, Pauline Stukowski, Barabara Walne & Betty Anne Campbell.
Eddie adored his family, classical music, gardening, volunteering & his church community. He was very proud of his Swedish, Finnish heritage, & also happy to share stories & traditions of them. He was an Army veteran, having served during the Korean War in Germany.
There will be a celebration of Eddie's life on Saturday, May 6th, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 183 West Main St., Westborough, MA. at 11:30 am. There will be a calling hour before the service, from 10:30 to 11:30 am.
A private burial in Rural Cemetery, Worcester, MA., will take place at the convenience of the family.
The family wishes to thank the staff at UMass Hospital, The Lutheran Home, and Dr. Robert Klugman for their dedicated care of Eddie.
