Shrewsbury-Harold F. “Butch” Cotterly passed away peacefully on March 7th surrounded by his loving family. Harry is survived by his only daughter Lisa Cotterly-McKenna and her husband Dean, his brother Scotty Cotterly and his wife Diane, his brother Kevin Cotterly and his wife Carol, his sister Nancy Cotterly Fraser, his granddaughters Akasha, Samantha and Faith, great grandson Eli, his nieces, nephews, cousins and his favorite furry friend of 19 years Snowy the cat.
Harry was born on May 11, 1949 to the late, Harold F. Cotterly and Mary Cotterly. He was raised in Waltham. He joined the army in 1967 and was stationed in Germany where his daughter Lisa was born. Harry later moved to Wareham, Ma where he started his famous pig roasts and loved going clamming, fishing and anything by the ocean.
Harry also lived in New Ipswich, NH for many years and that’s where he changed many people’s lives with becoming a pyro-technician working for Atlas Pyrotechnics in Jaffrey NH. He then decided to include his family in his new adventure so his brother Scotty, his granddaughter Samie and his niece and nephew Rachel and Ryan ventured into the fireworks world where they would put on shows that would amaze their audiences. Harry decided to step it up one more time by bringing his fireworks experience to his annual pig roasts and that’s where the famous Pyroman was created and from magic tricks, to riding a bicycle through a wall of fire and shooting fireworks from his body, Harry made his firework shows memorable. Harry touched so many lives and made lifetime friendships and relationships. Harry will never be forgotten.
