James Walter Hardiman, 89, of Westborough passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at home surrounded by family. He was the husband of the late Rose M. (Cejmer) Hardiman.
Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Walter Hardiman and Constance (Woolhouse) Morse. He was raised and educated in Worcester and graduated from Central New England College.
James was employed as an Electrical Engineer at Warren Communications in Littleton prior to his retirement.
He was a former member of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Worcester, and enjoyed traveling, spending time with his grandchildren and was an avid Boston fan, especially the RedSox and the Patriots.
He proudly served in the US Navy in the late 50’s on the USS Marshall.
He is survived by three children, Susan Walker and her husband, Garret, of Holden, Beth Delaney of Westborough and Jeffrey Hardiman and his wife, Cheryl, of Uxbridge; nine grandchildren, Meagan Weigold, Justin Sorensen, Anna Vriesema, Molly Linnane, James Delaney, Haley Walker, Jordan Walker, Erin Shinkus, and Lindsay Walker and nine great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Diane Sorensen, and his sister, Mary Vail.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, June 20, in the Pickering & Son Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main Street, Westborough, from 10:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. with a brief service starting at 11:30 A.M. A Celebration of life luncheon will follow after the services.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Westborough Food Pantry or the Westborough Senior Center.
