John S. Clough, Sr., 57, of Westborough, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at his home.
Born in Haverhill, Massachusetts, John was the son of the late Arthur Clough and Ruby (Smith) Bemis. He was raised and educated in Haverhill and later attended Johnson & Wales University in Rhode Island, where he pursued his passion for cooking through culinary arts.
John most recently worked as a cook at the Siloam Masonic Lodge in Westborough and was a devoted and proud member of the Siloam Westborough Masonic Lodge.
John found joy in life’s simple pleasures—fishing, cooking, and spending time with those he loved. Above all, he cherished being a grandfather and took great pride in his grandchildren. He loved gathering with family and friends and was known for his love of animals. John shared a special bond with his dog, Millie, and fondly remembered his beloved dog, Katie, who predeceased him.
John is lovingly remembered by his children: John Clough, Jr. of Johnston, RI; Dejamarqus Murrien and his wife Megan of Jacksonville, FL; James Howard, Dejarbrina Howard, and Jamielee Howard, all of Johnston, RI, and Fernanda Clough of Brazil. He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Serena, Joylyn, Jasmine, and Kaison.
He is also survived by his sister, Wonder Martin of Haverhill; many nieces and nephews, including Oliver, Melissa, Paula, Jimmy, Annie, Everett Jr., Tamika, and Tiffany; and numerous extended family members. John is further survived by his former wives, Rosimar de Melo and Jennifer (Murrien) Clough.
In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his siblings David Clough, Paul Clough, Arthur Clough, June Clough, and Marsha (Clough) Pickard.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 4:30 PM on Monday, January 19, at Pickering & Son Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main Street, Westborough. Members of the Westborough Siloam Masonic Lodge will conduct a Masonic service at 4:30 PM, followed by a time of family reflection.
In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s memory may be made to a GoFundMe established to assist his family with funeral expenses: https://gofund.me
