Westborough

Â

Lillian P. Wentzell, 92, left us peacefully to be with her Arthur on October 1, 2016 at Beaumont Skilled Nursing of Westborough.  Born in Oxford, MA to Emma (Ruel) and Paul Prefountain on May 17, 1924.  She leaves behind her son Robert and his wife Donna of Brookfield, MA and their children Rikki Lee of Millbury, MA and Lee Anne of Raleigh, NC; her sister Constance Faubert of Auburn, MA and her children Paul Faubert and Judy Shore; Patricia Melesky, and her children Alicia, Erin, and Shawn; Gordon Wentzell, and his children Steven, Lynn, and Susan; two great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Lillian was predeceased by her husband of 58 years Arthur A. Wentzell Jr., her son Charles (Chuck) M. Melesky, and her brothers Kenneth and Paul.  Lillian was a homemaker whose house was always just so and loved sports.  She was a skilled basketball player in high school, which was quite an accomplishment for her small size, and later excelled at bowling and especially golf which she enjoyed playing with Art for many years.  She followed all the Boston sports teams, loved knitting, handy crafts, crosswords, and puzzles, but more than anything she loved her family above all else.  Lilly was known for her unselfish giving, her feistiness and quick temper that kept us all in line as kids!  She was a long time member of the Westborough Women’s Club and a member and supporter of the Westborough Congregational Church.  She lived in Westborough on Gary Circle for 50 years and then at Whitney Place also in Westborough.  Special thanks go out to Glenn and Cindy Mcleod for their endless help and assistance to Art and Lil in their elder years.  The family would also like to thank all the staff and caregivers at Whitney Place and Beaumont Skilled Nursing with special thanks to the hospice care team at Beaumont for their help through this difficult time.  Lilly can now rest in peace with those that have gone before her.  At the request the family funeral services will be private.  Donations can be made to Abby’s House at Lil’s request.Â
