Marion Wilbur, 88, of Hopedale, formerly of Cotuit, Milton and Dorchester, passed away on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at the Westborough Healthcare Center. She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Albert D. Wilbur, whom she adored beyond words.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late August and Helen (DeBesse) Van Newenhoven. She was raised and educated in Dorchester and was a graduate of Dorchester High School for Girls.
Mrs. Wilbur was a homemaker dedicated to her home and family. She enjoyed traveling, crafts and art.
In addition to her husband she is survived by six children, Jane Misicka and her husband, Michael, of Cotuit, Nancy Lareau and her husband, Richard, of Westborough, Susan Wilbur and her friend, Debbie Campbell, of Quincy, John Wilbur and his wife, Deborah, of Avon, CT, James Wilbur and his wife, Claudia, of New Castle, NH and Andrew Wilbur and his wife, Rosa, of Milton. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 9, at 10:30 A.M. in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough. Burial will be at 2:30 P.M. at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
A calling hour will precede the Mass from 9 to 10 A.M. at the Pickering and Son Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Boston’s Children’s Hospital.
