Mark Kenneth Chang-Gagnon, 52 of Los Angeles passed away peacefully on Friday, February 3, 2023, surrounded by his beloved family, at The Keck Hospital of USC. He was the husband of Saeyoung Chang whom he married in 2019 and they lived a blessed and loving life.

Born in Weymouth, MA on July 10, 1970, to Patricia (Higgins) and G. Kenneth Gagnon, of Westborough, MA.  He is survived by his two children, Allison of NYC, and Andrew of San Francisco as well as his stepdaughters, Stella and Hana Vu. He also leaves his sister, Karen Sullivan of Charlestown, MA and his brother, Chris and his wife Andrea of Natick, MA.  Cherishing his memory and all the fun times with Mark are his nieces and nephews: Owen and Luke Sullivan, Ave, Allegra, and Levi Gagnon along with numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Mark graduated from The Culinary Institute of America in 1990 and devoted his life to the culinary arts as a chef and an executive in the industry.  He was passionate about bringing joy to people through food and culinary experiences.  He had the honor of being a featured chef at the esteemed James Beard House in February 2004.  Mark recently achieved a goal of furthering his education when he received his MBA from University of Southern California, Marshall School of Business in June 2022.

He was an avid surfer who loved spending time traveling to beaches around the world, riding his motorcycle (especially in the Distinguished Gentlemen’s ride) and enjoying music.  Mark was a proud mentor in many aspects of his life - professionally, spiritually, and personally.  Love for his family and his deep faith were at the core of his life. This was evident to all who were able to attend or view the Celebration of Mark’s Life in their church, Tapestry LA.
