Mildred “Millie” May Weir, 94, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026. Born in Francestown, New Hampshire, Millie was the beloved daughter of Carl and Mary (Bailey) Cilley. She grew up in Francestown and graduated from Peterborough High School in New Hampshire. Millie married Curtis Louis Weir on August 17, 1949 and together they built a life together primarily in Westboro, Massachusetts, for over fifty years.
She is survived by her brother Jerry Cilley (Shirley) of Windsor, New Hampshire, and her children Richard Weir (Patricia) , of Daytona Beach, Florida and Arundel, Maine and Robert Weir (Pamela) of Frisco, Texas, Cheryl Gaylord (Jay) of Ware, Massachusetts, Willam Weir (JoAnn) of Boylston, Massachusetts and Deborah Baum, of Westchester, Ohio and her grandchildren, Renee Paire, Jonathan Weir, William Weir, Tracy Bouffard, Kristin Demers, Jason Weir, Derek Gaylord, Matthew Weir, Meaghan Held, and Elizabeth Gregory, and seventeen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Curtis, and her son Ronald and five brothers; Raymond, Richard, George, Clyde, and Roger and three sisters; Ida Hobbs, Betty Jones, and Violet Rhiendeau and one grandchild Eric Weir, David Baum, son-in-law and John Paire, grandson-in-law.
Millie spent several years raising her children and babysitting her grandchildren. When they were older, she worked in the food service industry for many years, at the Westboro Turnpike Service Center before retiring. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and love for her family; including her grandchildren and great grandchildren and the many friends she made along the way. Most recently, Millie resided at Brookdale Eddy Pond Assistive Living facility in Auburn, Massachusetts and Holden Rehab and Skilled Nursing home in Holden, Massachusetts. She was an enthusiastic participant in social activities, particularly Bingo, Trivia and all musical entertainment.
Millie found peace and joy at these two communities and especially with the additional love and care from The Jewish Hospice Care staff from Worcester. Millie, “Nana” and “Great Nana” was truly loved and will be missed by all that were fortunate to know her.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 9, at 10:00 A.M. in the Pickering & Son Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery will be private. There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Jewish Health Center of Worcester at jhccenter.org.
