Nellie L. Fryer, 97, of Westborough, passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at the UMass/Memorial Healthcare - University Hospital in Worcester. She was the wife of the late Thomas B. Fryer, Jr. and Michael B. Dayotas.
Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of the late George and Petronela (Matuskyte) Ruksnaitis. She was raised and educated in Worcester and was a graduate of Commerce High School.
Nellie was employed for many years as a clerk for the Town of Northborough Water Department.
She enjoyed square dancing, cooking, baking and was a talented seamstress. After the tragic death of her first husband, she raised her three children alone.
Nellie is survived by three children, Peter M. Dayotas and his wife, Evelyn, of Northborough, Paul G. Dayotas and his wife, Cynthia, of Westborough and Pamela A. Fryer and her husband, John, of Upton; three step-children, Christine A. Reed and her husband, Thomas, of Brownsburg, Indiana, John T. Fryer and his wife, Pamela, of Upton and Robert T. Fryer and his wife, Sherrie, of Laconia, NH; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Ann Judge and Eva Kelliher.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 2, at 10:30 A.M. in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough. Burial will follow in Howard Street Cemetery, Northborough.
Calling hours at the Pickering & Son Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough, are Wednesday, September 1, from 4 to 7 P.M.
