Peter Chau, a devoted husband, father, and pillar of strength, passed away on April 26, 2026 at the age of 62.
He was born in Central Vietnam in 1963, during a time of great conflict and uncertainty. As a teenager, he demonstrated extraordinary courage and responsibility, helping lead his sisters, nieces, and nephews to safety as they fled their homeland in search of a better future. Their journey took them across dangerous terrain and open water before they were ultimately rescued and resettled in the United States.
He eventually made his home in Boston, Massachusetts, where he began again with very little. Facing the challenges of a new country without language, financial security, or guidance, he worked tirelessly to build a life for himself and his family. Through resilience and determination, he learned a new language, adapted to unfamiliar surroundings, and created a foundation rooted in hard work and perseverance.
Over time, he built not only a home, but a life defined by generosity, humility, and love. He was a dedicated husband to Quyen and a proud father to Tori and Sean. He found joy in cooking, sharing meals, singing, and bringing people together. His quiet acts of care - often unnoticed by many - were deeply felt by those closest to him.
He is remembered for his selflessness, including the many sacrifices he made to ensure his family had opportunities he never did. Whether through small daily gestures or life-changing decisions, he always put others before himself.
He is survived by Quyen, his children Tori (Alex) and Sean (Dana), and countless others whose lives were touched by his kindness and strength.
His legacy lives on through the family he nurtured, the values he instilled, and the love he gave so freely. His life is a testament to resilience, sacrifice, and the enduring power of care and connection.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI) - an organization dedicated to protecting immigrants and refugees for over a century. Donations can be made at https://refugees.org/donate.
He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
His funeral Mass at St. Luke the Evangelist Church, Westborough, will be held privately with his family.
