Richard “Dick” Francis Minardi, a former resident of Westborough, died on October 1, 2025, in Toccoa, GA at the age of 89. Born in Framingham, MA on July 14, 1936, he was the son of the late A. Michael and Mona (McGlory) Minardi and was raised and lived in Westborough for many years.
He graduated from Westborough High School class of 1954. On Feb. 1, 1955, enlisted in the U. S. Air Force for a four-year tour of duty. Serving in Colorado, Alaska, and Florida attaining the rank of A/2C. Upon discharge he enrolled at UMass Amherst graduating in 1963 with a Bachelor of Science Degree.
Dick was a senior insurance adjuster for G. A. B. (General Adjustment Bureau) in Boston, prior to moving to Florida where he continued to work in the insurance industry. Later in life he day traded options on the N.Y Stock Exchange and was an avid reader, who was strong-willed, opinionated, spoke his mind and his political/personal views were well known. (There was no question where Dick stood on family and country issues)
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Leslie Ann (Stockinger) Minardi. In addition, he leaves the family of Tracy, Danny, Ava and Ella Kofke, Cynthia, Michael, Taylor and Aubrey Brown. Brothers Douglas and John Minardi, sisters Sheila Fay and Karen Minardi, all of Westborough. Along with many nieces, nephews and a lifelong friend Francis “Fran” Budroe.
He was predeceased by sister Shirley Falvey, brothers Michael and Dennis Minardi, wife Elizabeth (Sheehan) Minardi and infant daughter Cheryl Ann Minardi.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 12, at 1:00 P.M. in St. Luke’s Cemetery in Westborough followed by Military Honors.
