Thomas W. Shahood, Jr., 66, of Marlborough, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Barbara A. (Mullin) Shahood.

Born and raised in Framingham, he was the son of the late Thomas Sr. and Barbara (Walker) Shahood.

Tom was a graduate of Framingham South High School, Class of 1977. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Technology from Fitchburg State University in 1981. In 2010, he received his Master of Science in Program Management from Northeastern University.

Tom served as Research and Development Manager for the composites business at Barrday Inc. from October 2012 to 2021, where he managed a team of engineers, chemists, project managers, and technicians focused on material development, product applications, and technical services. He was also a part-time member of the graduate faculty at Northeastern University from 2015 to 2022, teaching graduate courses in project management.

Earlier in his career, he was a program manager at Cobham from 2011 to 2012, overseeing a multi-year global transformation project to develop and deploy a common engineering and project management framework across company sites. He previously served as a senior program manager at Textron from 2005 to 2011 and as Vice President of Sales at Satcon from 1998 to 2005.

Tom was an extremely talented photographer who could be seen at every gathering with his camera. He was a devoted fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox and rarely missed a game. A passionate Jeep enthusiast, he could often be found driving his Wrangler along the beaches of Cape Cod or exploring trails throughout New England.

He was a skilled fine woodworker, crafting cigar boxes and furniture for his home. Tom loved restoring and caring for his old, crooked house, where he enjoyed hosting family and friends, especially at his annual Halloween and Christmas parties. He spent summers tending his vegetable garden and traveling with his family. An avid traveler, his favorite city was Paris.

Tom’s love of 1970s rock music was unmatched, and he enjoyed attending concerts year-round. Many summers were spent with family in cottages on Cape Cod, kayaking throughout New England, canoeing down the Saco River, and camping across the region.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Thomas W. Shahood III and his wife Asha (Moon) Shahood of Mansfield, MA; Joseph T. Shahood and his wife Corie Rosenblatt of Los Angeles, CA; Marilyn Crawford and her partner Gary Kibbe of Worcester, MA; and Dylan Crawford and their wife Rachel Sharon of Marlborough, MA. He also leaves his grandchildren, Mia Shahood, Veda and Orion Tebeau, and Noah Kibbe, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He will be missed by his siblings Paul and Ellen Shahood of Marlborough, MA; Joanne Garino of Yarmouth, MA; Linda Shahood of Ashland, MA; and Mark Shahood of Ashland, MA.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, February 28, from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. in the Pickering & Son Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main Street, Westborough. A gathering for family and friends will follow starting at 11:30 A.M. at Arturo’s Restaurant in Westborough.

Burial at Maplewood Cemetery will be held privately with his family.
