Wayne F. Rand

Wayne F. Rand, 86, of Vero Beach, FL, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, October 29, 2026. He was the beloved husband of Janet (Brown) Rand.

Born in Brockton, he was the son of the late Fred and Lillian (Smith) Rand. Wayne was raised and educated in Braintree and was a 1958 graduate of Braintree High School. He also attended and graduated from Babson College.

During the late 1950’s he served with the United States Navy attaining the rank of Airman (AN).

Wayne spent his career as a dedicated materials manager, working for Johnson Controls, Inc. and was also formerly employed with Ford Motor Company, Allied Chemical Co., and Lear Siegler.

Wayne thoroughly enjoyed all water sports.

In addition to his wife, Janet, he is survived by his children: his daughter, Susan Dilworth and her husband Jamie of Street, MD; his son, Erik Rand and his wife Kerry of Abingdon, MD; and his step-son, Gary Cornwell and his wife Rene’e of Vero Beach, FL. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jay and Scott Dilworth, Zach and Emma Rand and Gary Jo and Christopher Cornwell and his great-grandchildren, Alexa and Olivia Cornwell.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Judith Rand; his brother, Warren Rand and his sister-in-law, Janice Rand.

A graveside service with Military Honors will be held on Saturday, November 14 at 10:00 A.M. Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy, MA.
