William Paul Graves, 80, of Westborough, MA passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at the Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Susan (Rideout) Graves.
Born in Neptune, New Jersey, Paul was the son of the late William and Alice (Bunell) Graves. He was raised and educated in Red Bank, New Jersey before earning his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Northeastern University.
Paul dedicated 39 years of his career to GTE / General Dynamics as an electrical engineer, where he worked on projects for the FAA, the U.S. Department of Defense and NASA. Beyond his professional life, he had a remarkable talent for tackling home repairs and took great pride in caring for his homes in Westborough and Dennis.
Paul was a devoted member of Brewster Baptist Church. He treasured summers at the family’s home in Dennis on Cape Cod, where he indulged his love of history through reading and cheering on the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox. Most of all, he cherished the time spent in the company of family and friends.
In addition to his wife, Susan, he is survived by his son, Jeremy Graves, and his wife, Emily, of Marlborough; his granddaughter, Ada Graves; as well as several nieces and nephews, and members of Susan’s family.
He is predeceased by his sister Suzanne Conery.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 6 P.M. on Thursday, August 28, in the Pickering & Son Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main Street, Westborough.
His graveside service at Pine Grove Cemetery, Westborough, will be held privately on Friday, August 29.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be sent to the Brewster Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 1848 Main Street, Brewster, MA 02631.
