Alan Karb Obituary

Alan Russell Karb, 90, of Westborough, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 8, 2022. He was the husband of the late Margaret (Caldwell) Karb.

Born in Framingham, he was the son of the late E. Russell and Gladys (Doty) Karb. He was educated in Framingham and was a graduate of Framingham High School. He also attended and graduated from Brown University.  He married Margaret Caldwell in 1955 and raised their children in Framingham and Southborough, Massachusetts and Cherry Hill, New Jersey.

Alan was employed as an office manager for many years at Dennison Manufacturing in Framingham prior to his retirement.  After retirement, they lived in Williamsburg, VA for twenty years.

He was a member of the Assabet Valley Master Singers, was an avid Bridge and tennis player and enjoyed traveling. He and his wife traveled to all fifty states and all the Canadian provinces as well as every continent except for Antarctica.  From a young age, Alan spent summers in Rockport, MA.

He is survived by four children, Joanna Heim and her husband, Thomas, of Westborough, Julie Carpenter and her husband, Scott, of Lakewood, CO, A. Thomas Karb of Wells, ME and James Karb and his husband, Ismael Padua, of Astoria, NY. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Russell Heim, Emily Carpenter, Jeffrey Heim and his wife Anieli Gaverio Mantello, Jennifer Carpenter, Gayle Heim and her husband, Tom Gale and Sarah Ryszkowski and her husband, William.

He was predeceased by his brother Richard D. Karb and sister Priscilla A. Karb.

Services will be private.
