David E. Kelley

UPTON- David E. Kelley, 57, of Upton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at the Rose Monahan Hospice in Worcester.

Born in Lowell, he was raised and educated in Westborough and was a 1977 graduate of Westborough High School. Following graduation he entered and served with the U.S Navy for six years in the submarine program.  David was stationed in Hawaii for a few years and enjoyed playing soccer on base and on the ship.

David has been employed as a clerk at the Marlborough Post Office since 1983.

He enjoyed playing softball in the Upton league, gardening and the outdoors.  David was an avid New England sports fan, he followed very closely the Red Sox, Patriots and the Bruins.  Any conversation with David included the current season team stats, players and expectations.

David is survived by one sister, Deborah E. Mullen and her husband, Joel, of Whitinsville; two nephews, Joel Mullen Jr. and Matthew Mullen; and his cherished dog and companion, Claudia.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, November 12, from 2 to 4 P.M. at the David A. Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough followed by a brief service at 4:00 P.M.
