Obituary

Richard “Dick” Diehl, 94, of Westborough MA, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2022 at the Notre Dame Long Term Care Center in Worcester, MA. Richard was predeceased by his beloved wife Connie (Fallon) Diehl. Born in Poughkeepsie, NY on July 21,1927, he was the son of the late Philip and Ethel (Lawson) Diehl. During WWII, Richard served with the United States Navy-Seabees attaining the rank of EM/3C.

For over 35 years, Richard was employed by IBM and retired from the company as a Senior Engineering Manager.  After retirement, Richard and Connie moved to Pennsylvania where he became an avid woodworker making many beautiful pieces of furniture.

He is survived by one son, Wayne Diehl of Hyde Park, NY; one daughter, Nancy Ramsey and her husband, Michael, of Hopkinton, MA; four grandchildren: Kristin Johnson and her husband, Corey, of Auburn, MA; David Ramsey of Charlestown, MA; Amanda Winter of Colebrook, CT and Mackenzie Landers of Poughkeepsie, NY.

Richard was predeceased by his siblings: William Diehl, Thelma Craig, Catherine Stevens, and Ruth Fellin.

A private committal service, with Military Honors, will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
