To all of the Stratton families:
I am saddened to learn of Merrill's passing but KNOW he is in a better place for now he is with his love Betty...my Charlie 1st met Merrill while working at Fenwal & the friendship grew over the many years...we enjoyed many years of working together doing the "Pause to Remember" cablevision programs to honor our local veterans...also he & Bill Barrett putting together the 5th graders Essay Program each year...I WILL NERVER FORGET his nominating me for a State award given in Springfield at the AM Legion Convention....when they called from Boston, I was TOTALLY overwhelmed....he never wanted ANY praise but was ALWAYS QUICK to give it...a kind, CARING, thoughtful, wonderful man who left his mark in a quiet, positive, meaningful way...I have missed running into him & those chats we would have that went on & on...we never resolved the state of the world, but WE TRIED...Veteran's Day Dinners will never be the same without him...
I am so sorry that I could not be there to pay tribute to this DEDICATED VETERAN & FRIEND...having been there for your Mom & seeing his pain, I KNOW they are happily reunited even though we miss them...may God be with you all & bring you the peace ONLY HE can....may the many memories you have bring a special warmth & solace to your hearts as mine do me...
God Bless, Chris M.

I remember Merrill from years ago as a member and secretary of the Dept. of Mass. American Legion POW-MIA Committee. On behalf of myself and the committee members, I offer our condolences to the family.
