Pat Boyden Smith, was someone I so admired, there was an elegance behind those shining eyes. Suppose I had a secret crush - that I kept to myself - how sad in life that we rarely encourage each other -why is it so difficult to say, I care? Patricia, exquisite Patricia, rest in peace, and thank you. That you were here made it easier for me; that you are there, easier, dear, for me to depart. I ache for you, Mrs. Smith, for those you left behind. Do svidaniya, Patricia, or, in the most indiscreet vernacular, dear, "until we meet again!" I pray someday we will!

Eight lonely years ago today, Patricia dear, you departed this life. I never knew you, but knew, Mrs. Smith, that you were remarkable. Rest in peace, sweet Patricia, rest. God loves an idle rainbow, dear, no less than laboring seas!
